At the Institute of Advanced Human Resources Practices (IAHRP), we recognize that growth is an essential part of every professional’s journey. As your experience increases and your qualifications evolve, your membership should reflect your accomplishments and expertise.

IAHRP’s Membership Upgrade process allows you to move confidently through the institute’s structured membership levels—ensuring your professional title and privileges grow alongside your achievements.

Each stage of membership comes with enhanced recognition, new opportunities, and access to higher levels of responsibility and leadership within the HR profession.

🌱 When and How to Upgrade

1. Affiliate to Associate Member

If you joined IAHRP as an Affiliate (e.g., student or early career member), you can upgrade to Associate status once you’ve completed a relevant degree or obtained a higher professional qualification.

To apply for an upgrade to Associate Membership, kindly submit the following to membership@iahrp.org:

  • A written application letter addressed to the Registrar

  • A copy of your degree or additional HR-related qualification

  • A copy of your Affiliate Member Certificate

  • Proof of payment of the ₦30,000 upgrade fee

  • Evidence of all annual subscription fees paid to date

As an Associate Member, you will be eligible to use the post-nominal ACIAHRP—a recognized professional designation that confirms your foundational competence in human resources.

2. Associate to Full Member

Associates may upgrade to Full Membership after gaining 3–5 years of HR work experience or completing a postgraduate degree or other advanced professional qualification.

To apply for an upgrade to Full Membership, submit the following:

  • A formal letter requesting an upgrade addressed to the Registrar

  • A copy of your Associate Member Certificate

  • Updated CV showing relevant work experience

  • A copy of your postgraduate degree or additional certification (if applicable)

  • Proof of payment of the ₦60,000 upgrade fee

  • Receipts for all annual subscriptions paid to date

As a Full Member, you are entitled to use the professional designation MCIAHRP, reflecting your strategic capacity and solid professional standing in the HR field.

3. Full Member to Senior Fellow Member

Full Members may apply to become Fellows after gaining 10 to 15 years of senior-level HR experience, or by completing a master’s degree or another advanced professional qualification that reflects leadership and innovation in the field.

To apply for Senior Fellow Membership, please submit:

  • A detailed application letter addressed to the Registrar

  • A copy of your Full Member Certificate

  • Updated rĂ©sumĂ© reflecting senior HR responsibilities

  • Proof of payment of the ₦100,000 upgrade fee

  • Evidence of a Master’s degree or equivalent, if applicable

  • Proof of annual subscriptions paid up to date

Upon approval, you will receive the FCIAHRP designation—a mark of seniority, excellence, and distinguished contribution to the human resource profession.

4. Fellow Member to Doctoral Fellow Member

Doctoral Fellow Membership is the highest level of professional recognition at IAHRP. It is reserved for seasoned HR professionals with 16+ years of industry experience, and who hold a Doctorate, DBA, PhD, or equivalent in a related discipline.

To apply for Doctoral Fellow Membership, send the following to membership@iahrp.org:

  • A formal letter requesting the upgrade addressed to the Registrar

  • A copy of your Fellow Member Certificate

  • A certified copy of your doctoral qualification

  • A comprehensive professional rĂ©sumĂ©

  • Proof of payment of the ₦125,000 upgrade fee

  • Receipts of annual subscription payments

Doctoral Fellows of IAHRP are entitled to use “Dr.” before their name and the FCIAHRP post-nominal, reflecting global recognition, academic accomplishment, and lifelong commitment to HR advancement.
